Rahul Gandhi has accused that the names of 6,000 voters have been removed from the Aland constituency in Karnataka, and he has released evidence to support this claim. The Election Commission is currently conducting a special intensive revision of the voter list in Bihar. In response, opposition parties, including Congress, have expressed strong condemnation. Rahul Gandhi alleges that this type of revision is systematically removing the names of many voters from the list. To protest against the Election Commission’s special intensive revision, Rahul Gandhi has undertaken a voter rights march in Bihar. In this context, he explained to reporters based on the data regarding the removal of names from the voter list. Rahul Gandhi stated: I have been consistently mentioning the removal of names from the voter list. I have also been releasing the evidence for it. In the Aland constituency of Karnataka, names of voters have been removed as well. A total of 6,018 voters’ names have been taken off the list in this constituency. During the 2023 elections, names have also been removed in the Aland constituency, and the number is even higher than this. However, someone has currently removed 6,000 voters. This was discovered accidentally. When a specific voter’s name was removed, it was discovered by a relative. The woman inquired about her aunt’s name being removed. It was then revealed that the person responsible for this action was her neighbor. When asked about it, he claimed that he did not remove it. Neither the person who removed the name nor the one whose name was removed was aware of this. Other forces have also been involved in this process, removing names.
Such removals are not the mistakes of individuals. Instead, they have been carried out in a planned and coordinated manner, misusing soft materials and mobile phones. This was not conducted at a mere employee level. This action has been directed at the Congress’s strongholds. Specifically, in the year 2018, Congress won in 8 out of 10 polling stations. Voter names have been removed in constituencies where Congress is strong to that extent. This is not a random occurrence. It is a planned action. The Chief Election Commissioner, Gnaneshwar Kumar, is protecting those who commit electoral fraud. As a result, he is causing harm to the country’s democracy. I do not make this accusation lightly. I present it as the leader of the opposition in the parliament. The evidence for this is clear. There is no confusion in it.This issue is presently being investigated in Karnataka. The Karnataka CID has dispatched 18 letters to the Election Commission over the last 18 months. They have posed several straightforward questions to the Election Commission. However, there has been no reply from the Election Commission regarding their inquiries. The reason for the absence of a response from the Election Commission is that it could result in someone being taken to the location where this fraud is taking place. Nonetheless, we remain firmly convinced. As I previously mentioned, this is not related to a hydrogen bomb concerning vote theft. My responsibility is to engage in the democratic process. Constitutional institutions are not fulfilling their obligations adequately. This is the statement made by Rahul Gandhi.
