At least five Indian nationals living in Qatar tragically lost their lives following a bus accident in Kenya, where they were vacationing, as reported by the Embassy of India in Doha on Tuesday. “A group of 28 Indians from Qatar were visiting Kenya when their bus was involved in a tragic road accident yesterday,” the mission stated in a post on X. According to the information available, five Indian nationals have perished in the incident, it noted. Officials from the High Commission of India in Nairobi are present at the scene and providing all necessary assistance, it further mentioned. “We are profoundly saddened by the tragic road accident on Ol Jororok-Nakuru Road in Nyandarua County, which resulted in the loss of five Indian nationals,” the High Commission of India in Nairobi shared on X.”We extend our deepest condolences to the grieving families. We hope for the quick recovery of the injured. The consular team from the High Commission is actively engaged on the ground and is in close communication with local authorities to provide all required support. The Indian mission in Qatar indicated that it was coordinating with the Indian Cultural Centre (ICC), Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF), and other community organizations in Doha. The Gulf Times newspaper reported that the bus carrying the Indian tourists lost control and plunged into a gorge in the northeastern Nyandarua Country.According to community sources cited by the paper, at least five tourists from southern India have died in the accident.However, the identities of the deceased have yet to be confirmed, while 27 individuals are injured and have been admitted to various hospitals across Kenya, it concluded.
