Indian-Origin Leaders Appointed as MPs in Singapore Parliament

According to the report, nine new Members of Parliament will be appointed to the Singapore Parliament on the 8th of this month. The names were recommended by President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, and among them are two people of Indian origin. They are Dr. Haresh Singaraju, a family physician from the National University Polyclinics, and Sanjeev Kumar Tiwari, the General Secretary of the Amalgamated Union of Public Employees. According to the report, the newly appointed MPs will take oath during the next session of Parliament later this month. Their appointment recognizes their contributions to society and public service. The move reflects Singapore’s continued emphasis on inclusive representation and the involvement of professionals from diverse backgrounds in the country’s parliamentary process.
