Amid the ongoing political and power crisis in Venezuela, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has announced that Starlink, the satellite internet service owned by SpaceX, will provide free broadband internet to people across the country until February 3. This decision comes after a US-led operation that removed President Nicolás Maduro, which triggered widespread instability, power outages, and communication disruptions. Starlink made the announcement on X (formerly Twitter), stating that it would ensure continued internet access after reports of sudden connectivity loss in parts of Caracas, linked to power cuts during the military operation. Local media confirmed that several areas of the capital were left without internet services. By offering free satellite-based connectivity, Starlink aims to support civilians, emergency communication, journalists, and humanitarian efforts during this critical period, highlighting the growing role of satellite internet in crisis-hit regions.
