Indian students in the United States have received a warning that failing to attend classes or abandoning academic programs without prior notification to their institutions may lead to the revocation of their visas and could compromise their eligibility for future visas, as stated in a recent announcement by the U.S. Embassy in India. The embassy’s communication, disseminated via X, underscored the necessity for students to adhere strictly to the conditions of their F-1 or M-1 visas. “Should you withdraw, miss classes, or exit your course of study without notifying your school, your student visa could be revoked,” the announcement indicated. “Additionally, you may forfeit your eligibility for future U.S. visas.”This caution is part of a wider initiative to enforce immigration regulations under the Trump administration, which has heightened the examination of international students. The embassy further cautioned students that exceeding their permitted duration of stay could result in deportation and a lifelong travel ban.
