Iran has announced that the agreement related to the Strait of Hormuz is in its final stage of preparation. The Iranian government said the draft agreement is almost complete. Earlier, on February 28, the United States, along with Israel, launched military operations against Iran with goals that included weakening the Iranian government and ending its nuclear program. However, Iran claims that these objectives were not achieved. Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Ismail Baghaei, said the agreement is now in its final phase. According to two regional officials, the proposal is waiting for final approval from Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei. Reports also suggest that Khamenei may have been injured during the early stages of the conflict and has not appeared in public since then. Earlier this week, U.S. President Donald Trump also said that an announcement about the agreement could be made soon. If the deal is finalized, it could lead to the reopening of the strategically important Strait of Hormuz, reduce pressure on the global economy, and increase hopes for an end to the conflict.
