Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his girlfriend Lauren Sanchez recently got engaged on his $500 million superyacht after dating each other for nearly five years.
Bezos is now preparing for his marriage with Sanchez, but reportedly first wants to sign a prenuptial agreement to protect his $138 billion fortune. According to a Page Six report, both Bezos and Sanchez are looking to secure their assets through the prenuptial agreement.
This is his second marriage after he divorced his first wife MacKenzie Scott in 2019. He did not have a prenuptial agreement before his first marriage which cost him around $38 billion. Post divorce, Scott became the third-richest women in the world with her wealth, half of which she pledged to charity.
Just like Bezos, Lauren Sanchez is also looking to protect her own assets. She is the owner of Black Ops Aviation, an aerial video company and also reportedly owns a $6.2 million home in Washington. This is also her second marriage after she divorced Hollywood talent agent Patrick Whitesell in 2019.
Bezos and Sanchez jointly own a $78 million beachfront house in Hawaii, according to media reports.
The Page Six report stated that the couple sealed the engagement with a $2.5 million worth 20-carat diamond ring. The couple was recently seen together at the Cannes Film Festival.
Despite his net worth falling by $57 billion due to Amazon shares losing their value, Jeff Bezos still remains the third-richest man in the world after LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault and Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
