A video has gained significant attention on social media, depicting supporters of Khalistan in Canada making provocative statements. In the footage, an individual is heard referring to white Canadians as “invaders” and urging them to return to their ancestral lands in Europe and England. The scene unfolds during a public gathering where numerous participants are seen waving Khalistani flags, accompanied by audio from someone believed to be recording the event, which was reportedly a ‘Nagar Kirtan’ procession held in celebration of Guru Nanak Jayanti. Khalistanies asserts, “This is our country. We are the owners of Canada. We are proud Canadians. You are from Europe. Go back to Europe and England. You are not Canadians; you are invaders; we are native Indians.” Indian intelligence sources have characterized this incident as indicative of a “new normal” in Canada, suggesting that Khalistani groups are gradually asserting influence over various facets of the nation.

Reports indicate that, in the absence of adequate oversight, these factions are encroaching upon the control traditionally held by local Canadians, with Hindus reportedly being solicited for financial protection and an emerging threat to residents within their own communities. The relationship between India and Canada has faced significant tension following Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s claims in September of the previous year regarding a possible involvement of Indian agents in the assassination of Khalistan extremist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. In response, New Delhi dismissed Trudeau’s accusations as “absurd.” Nijjar, who held Canadian citizenship, had been labeled a terrorist by India. The Indian government has consistently asserted that the core issue affecting bilateral ties is Canada’s allowance of pro-Khalistan groups to operate freely on its territory.
