Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in bilateral discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin during the SCO summit in China on Monday. PM Modi expressed to the Russian leader that humanity desires a resolution to the Russia-Ukraine conflict. “We appreciate all recent initiatives aimed at achieving peace in Ukraine…India and Russia consistently progress together, even in challenging times,” stated PM Modi. He emphasized that during tough periods, India and Russia have remained united, and the strong relationship between New Delhi and Moscow is crucial for “global peace, stability, and prosperity.” PM Modi also remarked that the ongoing high-level exchanges between Moscow and New Delhi demonstrate the depth of their special partnership, noting that 1.4 billion Indians are eagerly anticipating the 23rd summit in December.
