Pope Leo has expressed the view that no problem can be resolved through war. In a statement released by the Vatican regarding this, Pope Leo remarked: “There are ongoing distressing reports coming from the Middle East, particularly from Iran. Today, more than ever, humanity is raising its voice for peace. This is a call that requires a sense of responsibility and discernment. Furthermore, it must not be drowned out by the clamor of weapons or speeches that incite conflict. The necessity for adequate humanitarian aid is becoming more pressing, especially in Gaza and other areas where the daily hardships faced by the populace may be forgotten. Each member of the global community has a moral obligation to avert the suffering caused by war. There is no greater issue than when human dignity is threatened. War cannot resolve any issues; instead, it amplifies them and leaves profound scars in the lives of people. No military triumph can ever make up for the anguish of a mother, the terror of a child, or a future that has been taken away. Countries should design their future through peaceful means rather than through violence and conflict,” remarked Pope Leo in his statement.
