The Government of India’s Ministry of Commerce & Industry, in collaboration with APEDA, has unveiled a revitalized version of India’s renowned beverage, which is set to penetrate markets in the US, UK, Europe, and the Gulf region. The beloved traditional drink, Goli Soda, has been reimagined as ‘Goli Pop Soda’ and is making its way into international markets, including the USA, UK, Europe, and Gulf countries. On March 23, APEDA announced that Goli Pop Soda has garnered a positive reception from consumers abroad. This classic fizzy drink has been modernized to appeal to contemporary tastes. A significant partnership with Fair Exports India has facilitated its distribution to Lulu Hypermarket, one of the largest retail chains in the Gulf, where thousands of bottles are now available, much to the delight of customers, according to the ministry.
In the UK, Goli Pop Soda has emerged as a popular choice, blending traditional Indian flavors with a playful, modern aesthetic. Its distinctive pop opener, reminiscent of the original Goli Soda’s nostalgic fizz, has particularly attracted attention. APEDA hosted a special launch event on February 4, organized by the Association of Beverages & Natural Nutrition (ABNN), to commemorate this achievement and highlight India’s commitment to promoting indigenous food and beverage products on a global scale. Additionally, Goli Pop Soda was featured at the International Food & Drink Event (IFE) 2025 in London from March 17 to March 19, providing Indian exporters with an opportunity to engage with international buyers and explore new business prospects.
