Union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said today that a massive project to construct 12 industrial smart cities project across the 10 states has received cabinet approval.
There are six main industries along which the cities will rise. Following a meeting of the Union cabinet headed over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The minister announced that the government had allocated approximately ₹ 28,602 crore for a major move on manufacturing.
The locations of the industrial areas are Agra ,UP, Maharashtra, Uttrakhand, Punjab, Bihar, Telangana, AP and Rajasthan .
According to the administration, About 10 lakh workers would be employed overall under the smart city initiative.It would also indirectly generate 30 lakh new jobs.
The project has an approximate 1.52 lakh crore potential to invest.
The purpose of this idea is to promote a strong industrial ecosystem through the facilitation of investments from MSMEs.
This will facilitate the establishment of manufacturing units by both domestic and foreign investors.
The government stated that its goal to a independent India, promoting economic growth through increased industrial output and employment.
