Today Tamil cinema’s leading actor and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam president Vijay released his party’s flag and flag song at the party headquarters in Panaiyur, Chennai, as an introduction to his political entrance.
Mr. Vijay introduced the two-colored flag, which has red on the top and bottom and yellow in the middle, as well as the Vaagai flower surrounded by 28 stars in the center and two trumpeting tuskers facing each other on either side.
Warriors from ancient Tamil kingdoms used Vaagai flower garlands to represent victory.
Mr. Vijay also hoisted the flag at the party’s headquarters and introduced the party’s flag song, Thamizhan Kodi Parakuthu.
Welcoming the party workers, Mr. Vijay said, “I am proud to launch the party’s flag, a sign of victory for our future generation.
So far, we’ve worked for ourselves. We shall now work as a party to improve the lives of Tamil Nadu people.
” He stated that the party’s ideology, values, action plan, and the history of the party’s flag will be revealed at the party’s first State-level Conference (date to be announced later).
He asked his party workers to obtain necessary permission (from government authorities) before hoisting the flag.
The party members also took an oath to honour the sacrifices of Tamil Nadu freedom fighters and language martyrs.
As well as to promote unity, equality, fraternity, religious harmony, and social justice by following the guiding principles of Pirappokkum Ella Uyirkkum.
Mr. Vijay announced the base of his political organization Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam in February of this year.
By stating that his party would run in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections in 2026.
The party skipped the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and denied to support any political party.Several years ago, he expanded his fan club into Vijay Makkal Iyakkam (VMI), a larger social welfare movement.
