The Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board has announced limits on setting up and disolving of Ganesha idols.

On the celebrations of Ganesha Chaturthi, the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board has set six restrictions on the setting up and dissolving of Ganesha idols.

In this scenario, the board released a notification yesterday says Everyone should follow the Central Pollution Control Board’s rules .

Rules set for dissolving Ganesha idols in the water bodies, while celebrating Ganesha Chaturthi.

Ganesha statues made of clay only allowed to dissolve in water .

Idols produced from unmixed raw materials such as plaster of Paris, plastic, and thermocol are not allowed to dissolve in water.

Materials from nature such as dried flowers and straw can be used for making ornamentation for idols.

Natural resins from trees can be used to make the idols shine.

Only non-toxic materials, such as straw, should be utilized to make or decorate idols.

Idols should not be painted with harmful or non-sticky chemical paints, but rather oil paints.

Idols should not be painted with enamel or synthetic dyes.

Only natural dyes should be used, decorative clothing made of natural fabrics and colors should be used to decorate the idols.

Lord Ganesha statues will only be dissolved in locations chosen and approved by the District Administration according to Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board regulations.
