The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has decided to approach the Supreme Court against the West Bengal election results, alleging large-scale irregularities during the vote counting process. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) “stole the election” through manipulation and unfair practices during counting. She strongly rejected demands for her resignation and said she would not step down from te Chief Minister’s post. Speaking after the results, Mamata Banerjee stated that if the Centre wanted to remove her government, it could impose President’s Rule instead of forcing her resignation. She also announced that the TMC would move the Supreme Court seeking legal action over the alleged election irregularities. The political tension in West Bengal has increased sharply following the results, with both the TMC and BJP accusing each other of undermining democracy. The developments are expected to intensify the political battle in the state in the coming days.
