US President Donald Trump has announced a new plan to build powerful warships for the United States. He also said that these ships will carry his name and will be called “Trump Class” warships. Trump proudly said that the fleet made up of these ships will be known as the “Golden Fleet.”
Usually, US presidents do not name warships after themselves while they are in office. However, Trump has made an exception and chosen to name these ships after himself.
When Trump announced the “Trump Class” warships, images of the ship models were displayed on both sides of him. These images showed how large and powerful the ships are expected to be.
Each ship will weigh between 30,000 and 40,000 tons, making it the largest warship in US history. The ships will be equipped with many advanced weapons, including regular missiles, laser weapons, hypersonic missiles, and long-range missiles. They will also use advanced artificial intelligence (AI) technology. Nuclear weapons may also be included. By the time construction is finished, even more modern weapons that are still under development could be added.
Trump spoke about this massive project from his residence in Florida. During the announcement, he was joined by Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Navy Secretary John Phelan.
Trump said the goal is to rebuild America’s shipbuilding power and prove that the United States has the strongest navy in the world. He stated that while the US has built large warships before, these new ships will be even bigger.
According to Trump, there are plans to build up to 25 Trump Class warships in total. In the first phase, two ships will be built. Their construction is expected to be completed within two and a half years. Trump also said that this project will create thousands of jobs.
