US President Donald Trump earned around $1.4 billion (approximately ₹11,900 crore) through cryptocurrency-related businesses in 2025, according to a 927-page financial disclosure report released by the US Office of Government Ethics.
The report has sparked controversy, with critics questioning whether Trump benefited financially while serving as President.
Responding to reporters before his first trip on Qatar’s newly gifted Air Force One aircraft, Trump said his profits were mainly due to the strong performance of the stock market. “The stock market is doing very well, so everyone is making money. I also have a lot of investments and cash, which is why I am earning profits,” Trump said.
When asked about allegations that he was using the presidency for personal financial gain, Trump denied the claims. He said he had already built significant wealth as a businessman before entering politics. Trump also explained that he does not personally manage his investments. Instead, large financial firms handle his money, and he does not communicate directly with their executives. Although part of the reported income was linked to cryptocurrency projects launched during his first year in the White House, Trump said most of his wealth came from his long business career.
He added that he was not sure whether politics or business had been more rewarding financially, but said he had enjoyed a successful career in business long before becoming President.
