Walmart has secured a second office location in a region that is rapidly becoming a significant technology center. The company has leased more than 465,000 square feet—approximately equivalent to eight football fields—for an initial term of five years, commencing this November, as reported by Reuters on April 16. While Walmart has yet to operate supermarkets in India, it maintains technology offices in cities like Chennai and Bengaluru, with the Bengaluru office being its largest tech hub worldwide, employing 8,000 individuals. Chennai, historically recognized as a manufacturing center, is now attracting global corporate interest, with major firms such as AstraZeneca, UPS, and Pfizer establishing tech hubs there. Increasingly, international companies are setting up local offices in India to enhance their operational capabilities in cities like Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Pune.
