India defeated New Zealand by 48 runs in the first T20 match of the series. The match was played on Wednesday in Nagpur. Opener Abhishek Sharma played a brilliant innings, scoring 84 runs off just 35 balls with 5 fours and 8 sixes. Rinku Singh supported him with 44 runs, while Suryakumar Yadav scored 32 and Hardik Pandya added 25 runs. JnNew Zealand, who are touring India, were chasing a target of 239 runs. Earlier, New Zealand had won the three-match ODI series 2-1, and this T20 series consists of five matches. In the chase, New Zealand lost early wickets, with Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra getting out cheaply. Glenn Phillips fought hard with 78 runs, and Mark Chapman scored 39. Mitchell (28), Robinson (21), and Santner (20) also contributed, but it was not enough. New Zealand managed only 190 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs.
