Car explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort – 10 dead. A car exploded near Metro station Gate-1 near Delhi’s Red Fort at 6.30 pm today. 4 more cars nearby caught fire due to the explosion. Firefighters rushed to the spot and doused the fire. It is said that 10 people have died and 24 have been injured in the accident. Police, forensic experts and the National Security Group (NSG, NIA) are investigating. Security has been increased across Delhi due to this incident. Heavy checks are being carried out at places including the airport and railway station. Prime Minister Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and ministers are holding consultations. Security measures have been intensified across the country.
