After the year 2021, an oil tanker has made its inaugural journey from India to China. The European Union’s newly imposed sanctions on Russia due to the Ukraine war have affected the Indian-Russian crude oil refining company Nayara. As a result, several oil tankers belonging to Nayara have been anchored at various ports. Meanwhile, an oil tanker from Nayara has departed for China from the Mundra port in Gujarat. A vessel that was supposed to head to Malaysia is now redirected to China’s Shushan port due to economic restrictions. Through this, 500,000 barrels of diesel are set to be exported from India to China. Notably, after the year 2021, Indian oil tankers have made their way to China amidst the strained relations between India and China due to the Ladakh border issue. This marks a significant development in the context of the ongoing diplomatic tensions.
