Laura Loomer, a political influencer and supporter of Donald Trump, has criticized FBI Director Kash Patel on social media after the deadly shooting in Texas. The attack happened in Austin on March 1 and killed two people, including 21-year-old Savitha Shan, while 14 others were injured. Loomer accused Patel of not clearly calling the attack “Islamic terrorism.” She claimed that investigators found items linked to Iran and Islam, including clothing with an Iranian flag, the phrase “Property of Allah,” a Quran in the suspect’s car, and a photo of Iran’s Supreme Leader at his home. Loomer also brought up Patel’s Indian heritage and questioned his decisions as FBI Director. In her social media posts, she claimed that Patel had connections to Qatar from his past work as a lobbyist and accused him of avoiding the term “Islamic terrorism.” Authorities say the suspected shooter, 53-year-old Ndiaga Diagne, may have possible ties to terrorism and they are investigating whether there is any connection to Iran. Savitha Shan, a student at the University of Texas, was remembered by friends and family as a kind and hardworking young woman. She was active in community service and was preparing to graduate soon. Investigators are continuing to examine the case to understand the motive behind the attack.
