The ongoing tension in Nepal is a result of the protests led by youth against various issues such as corruption, unemployment, and restrictions on freedom of expression. The Communist government led by Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli (73) was toppled due to the intense protests by the ‘Gen Z’ youth in Nepal. The prevailing political tension in the country has led to a breakdown of law and order. Furthermore, violent incidents continue to occur in various regions, including the capital city, Kathmandu. Attacks have been directed at the residences of corrupt politicians. The youth who are currently protesting in Nepal met with the representative of the Bar Association Secretary on Wednesday. The discussions lasted for four hours. During this meeting, the Bar Association Secretary stated that they demanded the appointment of Suchila Karki as the interim Prime Minister. Reliable sources have indicated that Suchila Karki, the former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Nepal, may soon be appointed as the interim Prime Minister of Nepal. According to the protesters, Suchila Karki has expressed her willingness to assume the responsibilities of the interim Prime Minister. She completed his postgraduate studies at Banaras Hindu University located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. Subsequently, he pursued a law degree at Tribhuvan University in Nepal.
