Paris olympics: Imane khelief won the Gold medal at 68 kg Women’s Boxing match final over a gender controversy. It’s Algeria’s second gold medal in Paris.

Imane Khelif defeated China’s Yang Liu to become the first Algerian, Arab, or African woman to win an Olympic boxing gold medal at the Paris Games.

The Algerian, Imane khelief who had been the subject of debate on a gender issue which became one of the big issues on Olympics all time.

she was cheered on by a loud Algerian crowd in the stands, till the medals are awarded at Court Philippe Chatrier.

She ended up involved in a gender debate, by 2023 judgment by International Boxing Association (IBA) disqualified her for failing a gender eligibility test.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) rejected the results of the IBA-ordered tests as arbitrary and unconstitutional, stating that there was no reason to conduct them.

The 68 kg battle was the final match in a packed night of medal contests at the Games. Yang liu started the first round strong, attempting to drive Kheleif back.

While Khelif waited for her to attack, the Chinese fighter missed many shots and appeared to accept defeat.

Kheleif defeated yang liu comfortably and won the Gold medal on 68 kg women’s boxing category. Khelif happily stood at the center of the podium, holding a gold medal on her chest.
