At the AI Technology Summit held in Delhi, French President Emmanuel Macron said that children and young people must be protected from the harmful effects of artificial intelligence. He stressed that while AI offers many benefits, it also brings risks such as misinformation, online abuse, privacy concerns, and mental health challenges, especially for minors. He called for strong regulations and global cooperation to ensure that AI systems are safe and ethical. Macron praised India’s digital progress and said that the country has empowered its 1.4 billion people through technology. He highlighted that the Indian government has provided digital identity to its entire population through large-scale digital programs.

India’s digital ID system, widely known as Aadhaar, has helped millions access banking, healthcare, welfare schemes, and other public services more easily. He noted that such digital infrastructure can play a major role in building inclusive AI systems. The French President also emphasized the need for sustainable and inclusive AI development. He said AI technology should benefit everyone, not just a few large companies or developed nations. According to him, countries must work together to create transparent rules, protect data privacy, and ensure that AI supports economic growth without increasing inequality. The summit brought together global leaders, technology experts, and policymakers to discuss the future of AI. Key topics included ethical AI use, digital security, innovation, and international collaboration. Macron’s remarks underlined the importance of balancing rapid technological growth with strong safeguards to protect society, especially vulnerable groups like children.
