Tensions between the United States and Iran increased again after the U.S. military carried out attacks on Iranian targets even while a ceasefire was in effect. The attacks reportedly targeted missile bases in southern Iran and boats belonging to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). According to the U.S. Central Command, the operation took place near the Strait of Hormuz, an important sea route for global oil transport. U.S. officials said the strikes were carried out in self-defense to protect American military personnel stationed in the region. Spokesperson Tim Hawkins stated that Iranian military equipment and missile sites near the Strait of Hormuz were targeted during the operation.

The United States also accused Iran of trying to place naval mines in the sea using advanced methods. American officials claimed that boats operated by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps were involved in the activity, which led to the military response. The U.S. later announced that the operation had been completed successfully. Meanwhile, Iranian media reported explosions in several southern Iranian cities, including Bandar Abbas, Sirik, and Jask. News agencies in Iran confirmed that the attacks took place in coastal areas of southern Iran. The United States military has reportedly launched attacks on Iran, escalating tensions in the Middle East. Global leaders react as fears of war, oil price hikes, and regional instability grow rapidly. The latest attack comes at a time when there were growing expectations of a possible peace agreement between the United States and Iran. However, tensions remain high as former U.S. President Donald Trump has continued to insist that Iran hand over its uranium stockpile to the United States.
