According to recent reports, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) franchise, the current IPL champions, has been bought for ₹16,706 crore by a consortium led by the Aditya Birla Group. The group also includes companies like Times of India, BXP.E, and Bolt Ventures. Earlier, there were talks that the team’s owner, United Spirits Limited (USL), was planning to sell the franchise, and now the deal is said to be completed. With this, the new consortium has taken ownership of both the men’s and women’s RCB teams. RCB, one of the most popular teams in the IPL with a huge fan base, finally won its first title in the 18th season after failing to do so for 17 seasons. The victory was widely celebrated by fans across the country. Both the men’s team in the IPL and the women’s team in the Women’s Premier League are currently champions. Many investors had shown interest in buying the franchise, and now the ownership has officially shifted to the new group.
