British aircraft engineers have arrived in Thiruvananthapuram to repair the F-35 fighter jet of the British Air Force, which is currently grounded due to damage. Last month, the HMS Prince of Wales aircraft carrier of the British Navy arrived to participate in joint exercises with the Indian Navy. An F-35 fighter jet that departed from this carrier made an emergency landing at Thiruvananthapuram airport on the 14th of last month due to a technical malfunction. Efforts to repair the aircraft have been unsuccessful. There were also difficulties in disassembling the aircraft’s components and loading them onto a jumbo jet for transport. As a result, a team of British aircraft engineers arrived yesterday at Thiruvananthapuram to inspect the F-35 aircraft aboard the Royal Air Force’s Airbus cargo plane. This aircraft, valued at Rs. 924 crores, was transported to the maintenance center for repairs, where British engineers will be engaged in the necessary work. The British High Commission has confirmed that all facilities will be provided for them.
