Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian has apologized for the recent missile and drone attacks carried out by Iran on neighboring countries. He stated that Iran does not intend to attack nearby nations if their territories are not used to launch strikes against Iran. The apology comes amid the ongoing conflict involving Iran, United States, and Israel, which has now entered its eighth day. Iran had launched missile and drone strikes toward Gulf countries including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Iran said the attacks were aimed at locations connected to US military bases and embassies in the region. On the same day, a drone attack was reported near the international airport in Dubai, but fortunately no damage or casualties were reported. President Pezeshkian said Iran would only respond if attacks against the country were launched from neighboring territories. Otherwise, Iran would avoid further strikes on nearby nations. He also said the interim leadership council had approved this stance and expressed regret for the earlier attacks.
