Tensions have escalated sharply across the Gulf region following Iran’s missile strikes targeting United States military bases located in several Gulf countries. The attacks have intensified fears of a broader regional conflict and further heightened geopolitical instability in the Middle East.According to an official statement issued by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the strikes were carried out in retaliation for recent U.S. air attacks. Iran claimed that it had successfully targeted and destroyed key American military installations across the Gulf region.Iran stated that explosive-laden drones completely destroyed the United States’ missile defense systems and fuel storage facilities stationed at Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait. The IRGC further claimed that Iranian missiles struck and destroyed a strategically important radar station at Ahmad Al-Jaber Air Base in Kuwait, as well as a U.S. command center located at Prince Hassan Air Base in Jordan. However, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) strongly rejected Iran’s claims regarding the scale of the damage. While Kuwait and Bahrain acknowledged that air raid sirens had been activated within their airspace, both countries stated that their air defense systems had successfully intercepted most of the incoming threats.

Authorities in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates confirmed that debris from intercepted Iranian missiles caused minor injuries to a small number of people after the projectiles were shot down in the air before reaching their intended targets. As tensions continue to rise in the Gulf region, the U.S. military announced that it had successfully completed precision strikes aimed at weakening Iran’s maritime attack capabilities. Meanwhile, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warned that no commercial shipping traffic would be allowed through the strategically important Strait of Hormuz until what it described as U.S. interference in the region comes to an end Commenting on the latest developments, an Iranian military commander stated that the attacks represented the “third phase” of Iran’s response measures, warning that any attempt by the United States to maintain or expand its influence in the Gulf region would be met with further retaliation.
