Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a warm welcome upon his arrival at the airport in Thailand. He is set to participate in the 6th BIMSTEC Summit tomorrow, where he will also engage in discussions with Bangladesh’s Chief Advisor, Muhammad Yunus, during the summit. Embarking on a two-day trip to attend the summit, Prime Minister Modi departed from Delhi this morning, heading to Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. He arrived in Bangkok at 11 AM, where he was greeted with enthusiasm at the airport.Furthermore, Indians residing in Thailand gathered in large numbers to extend their congratulations to Prime Minister Modi. They expressed their well-wishes while holding Indian national flags. Additionally, they shared their joy by chanting Vedic mantras and performing traditional dances. Prime Minister Modi also took group photographs with them.
Before departing from New Delhi, Prime Minister Modi shared a post on X, stating, “In the next three days, I will be traveling to Thailand and Sri Lanka to participate in various initiatives aimed at enhancing India’s collaboration with these nations and the BIMSTEC countries.” In another post, he mentioned, “My visit to Sri Lanka will take place from the 4th to the 6th. This trip follows the successful visit of Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake to India. We will assess the multifaceted India-Sri Lanka friendship and discuss new avenues for cooperation. I look forward to the various meetings that will take place there.” At the BIMSTEC summit, Bangladesh will take the lead.Prime Minister Modi and Muhammad Yunus are scheduled to engage in discussions in Bangkok tomorrow afternoon, according to reports. Following the recent political changes in Bangladesh, India has consistently expressed its concerns regarding the attacks on the minority Hindu community in that country. Similarly, the Bangladeshi government has repeatedly voiced its opposition to the presence of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in India. As a result, tensions between the two nations have escalated, setting the stage for this upcoming meeting.
