Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will begin a major five-nation foreign tour from May 15 to May 20, visiting the United Arab Emirates, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, and Italy as part of India’s efforts to strengthen global partnerships and boost diplomatic, trade, and strategic relations. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, Modi will first travel to the UAE on May 15, where he is expected to hold important talks with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on issues related to economic cooperation, energy security, investments, technology, and the welfare of the large Indian community living in the Gulf nation. The visit comes at a crucial time as tensions and conflict continue in West Asia, making diplomatic discussions on regional peace and stability highly significant. After completing his UAE visit, Modi will continue his tour to the Netherlands from May 15 to 17, followed by Sweden from May 17 to 18, Norway from May 18 to 19, and Italy from May 19 to 20. During his stay in Norway, the Prime Minister will participate in the India-Nordic Summit on May 19, where leaders from Nordic countries are expected to discuss cooperation in clean energy, climate change, innovation, green technology, digital transformation, sustainable development, and Arctic policies. The multi-country visit is also expected to strengthen India’s trade ties with Europe and improve collaboration in defense, education, healthcare, renewable energy, and advanced manufacturing sectors. Political analysts believe this tour highlights India’s growing role in global diplomacy and its efforts to build stronger alliances with both Middle Eastern and European nations during a period of increasing geopolitical uncertainty and economic challenges across the world.
