Taliban Drone Attacks Target Pakistani Cities

Defence Global Affairs News Politics War

Tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan have sharply escalated as Pakistan’s Air Force continues to carry out airstrikes inside Afghan territory. In response, Taliban fighters have reportedly launched drone attacks targeting Pakistani cities and military installations. One of the recent drone strikes was aimed at military positions near Islamabad, raising serious security concerns and increasing fears of a wider conflict between the two sides. The clashes are believed to be linked to long-standing border tensions and Pakistan’s allegations that militant groups operating from Afghan soil are carrying out attacks inside Pakistan. The Taliban government in Afghanistan has denied supporting such groups, leading to growing mistrust between the neighboring countries. As the situation worsens, countries including China, Russia, Qatar, and Malaysia have called for an immediate ceasefire and urged both sides to resolve the issue through dialogue. Regional experts warn that continued violence could destabilize South Asia, disrupt trade routes, and create further humanitarian challenges in an already fragile region.
